I just really like plaid, okay.

In case you hadn't noticed, it's fall in Washington and I'm cliche so plaid is all over my wardrobe lately. I even found a black and white plaid flannel so I can wear it to work.  

While the classic plaid flannel circa Seattle 1994 is a staple in my wardrobe, I do dig some rocking the pattern in different ways too. These are some pieces I've been ogling at online this week.

Plaid is a timeless pattern, and it's just the right amount of casual for me. It will forever read with a vintage vibe, which I love. And when juxtaposed with a otherwise feminine cut dress or pant or shirt, you've got something really cool. Plus, with something like the first skirt, you can do "schoolgirl chic" in a snap.

Style Reprise: Day N Nite

I've never done one of these before, and I thought that these teal jeans would be a perfect piece to spotlight. They were my first pair of BDG Cigarette Jeans, and the ones that got me hooked (I now own 3 more pairs in different colors). Urban Outfitters currently has a bunch of these on sale for $39 instead of $58, so jump on that.

Today was a simple day. Simple clothes for a simple day. Granted, I was on my way to work and I changed my shirt before getting there, but it was so damn hot that I needed to rock a breezy tank top for the rest of the day. We keep the temp at work at 69 degrees, so I can wear whatever I want no matter the weather outside.

Electric Bloom

It was actually 9 o'clock when we took these pictures (granted my camera settings were far different than when it's 4 p.m), but you can see why I love this time of the year. It stays so light so late and it's wonderful!

Casual Success

I don't always get super dressed up. Whenever I run errands, I don't always like walking into the post office or grocery store in a full getup, especially since Gig Harbor is just about the least fashion-forward town I can think of. But I can't very well walk out of the house in an ordinary, boring outfit. I've still gotta put some flair into it. I'm not in college anymore. Sweatshirts don't cut it anymore.

Complimenting Parts

Look at me, mixing my patterns again! Sorry I've been so missing in action with my outfits the last week - I've been getting some stuff together for a big post here and a video for Saturday. And sometimes getting a good day to shoot around here is hit-or-miss with the rain these days. Today, however was too beautiful not to shoot.

So Sarah and I met at this park down off Jackson where her husband Julian plays soccer with some friends and shot in the little playground by the field while Jude was napping.
