FRESH FROM THE LUSH KITCHEN
Monday, August 4, 2014
In case you hadn't heart, Lush UK recently launched the Lush Kitchen. What is the Lush Kitchen, you may ask? Well lemme tell you - it's awesome. Small batches of limited edition products like shower gels, shave creams, soaps, sunscreens, bath bombs - basically anything you could think of, they've tried already. Even a mustache wax. A freaking mustache wax.
Several of the girls I work with have put in multiple orders from the Kitchen by now, but I only put in my first order last month when I saw the Supertramp was back on the menu. They have daily menus! How cute is that?!
Along with Supertramp shower gel, I picked up Five O'Clock Whistle shaving smoothie. I could not be happier with my purchases, ooooh boy. You have to pay for UK shipping (£6), and wait around 2 weeks for your package to get here, but it's such a special package when it does arrive!
Supertramp is by far the most complex scent I've ever found in any of our shower gels. It's peppermint, lavender, patchouli, white horehound, ginger, rose, and sandalwood. Sounds crazy, right? All blended together, it creates the most darkly whimsical scent - think evil forest fairy. It's grassy and floral and spicy and minty all at once and I am absolutely in love with it. Unfortunately, the last batch sold out, but who knows if they'll bring it back since it sold so well. Plus, it's similar to Tramp shower gel, which you can find on the regular Lush Retro section.
I washed my hair with it the other night and it was lovely.
The other product I picked up, I picked up on a whim - and once I saw the ingredients I was so freaking intrigued that I couldn't pass it up. Five O'Clock Whistle's first ingredient is "coffee and lavender infusion" which is just about the craziest thing I've ever heard, so when I opened it up I expected this bitter floral note but what I got was LIME LIME LIME. Honestly it smelled like the green otter pops we used to have when we were kids. I guess I failed to realize that fresh squeezed lime juice and lime oil were a couple of other ingredients high up on the list. I didn't complain though, because it was the first summer shave cream. I used it on its own on one leg the other day and mixed it with D'Fluff, to see if the strawberry and lime made the most delicious margarita-scented shave cream and I was 100% correct. Both legs were the closest shaves I've had in a long time, and they were so silky smooth that I didn't wanna stop touching them.
Along with the goodies, I received a UK Lush catalog in the package, which is just slightly different from the US catalog we've been giving out in shops. There are a couple other stories and obviously all the newer products that they've already launched in the UK. It just made me more excited to get the new things over here soon!
Have you ordered anything from the Lush Kitchen yet? Is this the first time you've heard of it? Let me know in the comments below because I just love it!
