Ledges

I've been wanting to do a denim on denim look for awhile, and I think I pull it off, to be honest. Canadian tuxedo, anyone?

I love this location up at Chambers Bay in University Place. It's like Tacoma's own little stonehenge, with some of the best lighting in the city, but it's also one of the coldest places in Tacoma. Even though the weather has warmed up substantially since last weekend, the wind made it feel at least 10 degrees colder, so I was freezing my butt off.
When styling the denim on denim, I needed to break up the blue, so I paired it with my vintage white leather belt, and this beige cardigan I found at the Goodwill a few years ago. It's one of my favorite finds ever - a Silence + Noise sweater for $7? Nice. I love this sweater, it's so cozy and casual and goes with absolutely everything.
Do these look straight out of an Urban Outfitters ad? Well that's perfect because that's where my sweater and jeans came from, so that's great.
Along with the Urban-centric outfit, I'm wearing a vintage turquoise pendant. I'm assuming it's from the 70s, though I'm not entirely sure. It's just a little bling for the Canadian tuxedo.
 So much wind.
I know the song might be a little stretch, but today's post is brought to you by the new Noah Gundersen song "Ledges" (the video can be seen here). I am standing on a physical ledge, as well as putting myself out of a metaphorical ledge in that I'm wearing denim on denim. That works, right? I just really like the song, okay?
Chambray top: Forever 21 // Sweater: Thrifted (Urban Outfitters) // Jeans: Urban Outfitters // Belt: Vintage // Necklace: Vintage // Booties: Diba (DSW) // Sunglasses: Ray Ban Meteor

Have you ever rocked the denim on denim? I feel like for it to work, the denims have to be drastically different in shade - hence the light top and dark bottoms. That way you can avoid this.

I'll be back with more beauty posts - I've got a couple things to review. But in the meantime, check out my YouTube channel, I recently uploaded a Beyonce reaction video. Yep.

See you soon!

  2. I wear denim on denim often, but usually light shirt on black jeans and break it up with more accessories than usual. This looks great though!
