Black Wave/Bad Vibrations

I'm back with a new outfit of the day! Sarah just got back from Virginia the other day so it's the first day we've been able to shoot since the last time I posted an outfit. Today our pal Alexis joined us on our photoshoot adventure too, so we were a trio instead of a duo.

 This was what I wore to work today, and it gave me an idea - I should do a whole post featuring all monochromatic black and white outfits in case you ever get stuck in a rut for work outfits (since black and white is a common dresscode, at least for the mall). It's actually hilarious how easily I can spot mall employees from their lack of color.

 I got this awesome pinafore from River Island last month, and I love it so far. The fabric balls up a bit too much for my living, but nothing a straight razor won't fix.

 My crop top is from Garage at the mall, which is one of my new favorite stores! It's a Canadian-based company, and their sizes and prices are super reasonable. I found a new pieces to wear for work (seeing that I didn't have a ton of black and white summer clothes for those really hot days).

 I paired this little ensemble with perhaps the wackiest finishing pieces - my floral tights from Urban Outfitters and my trusty Chuck Taylors. Literally the only way I could get more Clarissa Darling is if I had half my hair pulled back and I had a denim vest on. To tell you the truth, before the weather got hot today I was rocking a huge Canyon River Blues denim jacket.

 My earrings are from Fuego, and the gorgeous red today is Mac Red, which is literally the least creative color name I have ever heard. Really, Mac?

Today's song title reference is an old Arcade Fire song, off Neon Bible. It's been 6 years since that record. Oh god I'm old. Also when we were shooting, Lefty's stereo started playing "Good Vibrations," so I thought the this one fit for several reasons.

Anyway, I hope to get back into the swing of posting outfit and fashion stuff - I've just been super busy and focused on work lately and Lush is what has been on my mind a lot. Still looking for the perfect shampoo and conditioner pair. Also, speaking of hair, I need to schedule a hair appointment. My grow-out has finally gotten to me and I've got split ends up the ying yang.
