Portions for Foxes

I love tights. Like, a lot. I couldn't even count how many pairs I have. Colored, patterned, sweater, sheer, opaque - you name it. But these are the most recent addition to my tights collection, which I got from Modcloth last week and ooh baby are they hot. That's the idea that I had when choosing a song for this post, so I settled on Rilo Kiley's "Portions for Foxes." I felt like a bit of fox in these mock thigh-highs and my circle skirt from H&M. Thigh-highs are just sexy.

The only problem with me and thigh-highs is that because my thighs are rather large, they tend to ride down to my knees, hence defeating the purpose. This was the perfect answer to that problem - mock thigh-highs! You get all the sexiness of thigh-highs without all the annoyance of pulling them up all the time.
Like I said, I paired them with a berry circle skirt from H&M that I got a few months ago. I was going out to a show that night, and I wanted to look hot, okay?

For my makeup, I'm wearing Mac Feeling Flush mineralize blush from a couple of summers ago, and Urban Decay Half Baked eyeshadow all over the lid with a winged liner. I really like how gold eyeshadow makes my eyes look and it works really well with my current hair color. And I'm also wearing Mac Hue lipstick. I didn't want anything too high-maintenance for the night out and Hue fades really nicely.
Ironically enough, the last time Sarah and I shot in this location I was wearing this same lace top (which ended up being a really bad day). I got it from Marshall's last summer and I felt like covering up the peplum on this particular occasion because I just wanted the lace detail.
I threw on a bunch of rings too (Nastygal, vintage, gift shop) for some added bling, since I was just wearing some black gem studs in my ears.
Since I was going out that night, I wasn't about to wear tall heels with this look. My legs were long enough and shooting a show in heels is just stupid. These are my trusty Dolce Vita Mini Oxfords from Solestruck.
Shoes: Dolce Vita - Solestruck // Tights: Modcloth // Skirt: H&M // Top: Marshall's // Rings: Nastygal, vintage

  1. I was listening to Rilo Kiley when this post popped up on my Blogger reading list! Love the oxfords and skirt, both of those items are super cute. I might have to go to H&M soon to see if I can find the same skirt. :)
