WHAT I WORE TO SASQUATCH

I'm still wearing my Sasquatch wristband as we speak, so I'm clearly not over it yet, more than a week after the festival ended. I just love Sasquatch, you guys. 

But today is not for getting emotional - no - it's for #fashion. Why did I put that # there? I don't even know.

So as much as I planned my outfits, some days just called for little changes. 

Day 1:

I was going to bring my green shorts, but alas - I got my period and was mega bloated, so skinny shorts were not happening. So I brought a different pair of shorts.

I wish you could see my socks though. They had little Sasquatch guys on them.

I was glad I saved my overalls for day 4, because it was the one day that rained, and got quite cold.

I just really like plaid, okay.

In case you hadn't noticed, it's fall in Washington and I'm cliche so plaid is all over my wardrobe lately. I even found a black and white plaid flannel so I can wear it to work.  

While the classic plaid flannel circa Seattle 1994 is a staple in my wardrobe, I do dig some rocking the pattern in different ways too. These are some pieces I've been ogling at online this week.

Plaid is a timeless pattern, and it's just the right amount of casual for me. It will forever read with a vintage vibe, which I love. And when juxtaposed with a otherwise feminine cut dress or pant or shirt, you've got something really cool. Plus, with something like the first skirt, you can do "schoolgirl chic" in a snap.

Festival Fashion: Shoes Shoes SHOES!

We have the second installment of my festival fashion series - and now we're going to talk about shoes. They're essentially the most important part of what you're going to wear to a music festival, because it could mean the difference between feet that are merely tired and feet that are in excruciating pain.

For the last three years, I've been pretty much rocking combat boots nonstop during Sasquatch. After last year's festival, I retired by old combat boots; they were both disgusting and falling apart. That's what you get with cheap combat boots from TJ Maxx.

This year I'm keeping my options open. 

I know it won't be like this for everyone, but I like wearing socks during Sasquatch. I have dry dry skin and terrible eczema on my feet and calves, so going in flip flops just isn't an option for me. I have to wear heavy lotion most of the time, and if I don't wear socks - my feet collect dust like no other. And if I don't wear lotion, my feet literally hurt by the end of the day.
