The Ghost of You Lingers

Since it's the week of Halloween, I thought that it was only appropriate to do an outfit inspired by one of my favorite Halloween films, Beetlejuice. I'm hardcore channeling Lydia Deetz today, without going blatantly obvious. You've got the black, the wide brim hat, and the witchy striped socks. But they're subtle nods. It's not actually Halloween yet, after all.

I'd been wanting to style this top for awhile, ever since I got it almost a month ago from River Island. The cool etched sweatshirt thing is all the rage right now, and I have fallen victim to this trend.
I paired the top with these black skinny pants from Marshall's. They're like leggings but better, from the thick fabric, to the stretch patch in the front and back, to the zippers along the ankles - I love them.
Also I've been super obsessed with wide brim hats lately. Ever since Jeorgia posted her American Horror Story inspired lookbook, I was like "I need one of those. I need one real bad." This one is from H&M, and I dig it.
Like my Polaroid? I chose one of my prettiest cameras to go full-on Lydia today.
Anyway, that's enough yammering on for today. I've got a ton of new stuff to post this week (including some new stuff about music).
Top: River Island // Pants: Marshall's // Necklace: Thrifted // Hat: H&M // Socks: Target // Shoes: Dolce Vita // Sunglasses: Ray Ban Meteor
The title of this post comes from yet another Spoon song, clearly referencing the Tim Burton classic. I've been on a Spoon kick for the last couple weeks, as well as all the new great music that's come out recently. Speaking of, Arcade Fire's new record officially comes out tomorrow and I'm stoked. Have you heard it? It leaked last week and it's a brilliant 1 hr 25 min masterpiece.

Also, how much do we love this weather lately? Last week was just fog city, but the last few days after been perfect sunny days. I do love October in the Pacific Northwest.
