Life Lately: Engagements, Babies, and old Canons

That headline scared ya a little bit, didn't it?

No, neither of the first two things apply to me. Jeez, don't get so worked up about it. Haha. I'll explain in a minute.

It took me forever to try and come up with what to call these blog posts, the ones just about random bits of life where I put photos that I've taken lately. I have similar vlogs on YouTube where I sit in front of a camera and yammer on about nothing while I finish a second cup of coffee, but I can't really call these blog posts "overcaffeinated."

So a nice bit of alliteration was all I needed. Life. Lately. Simple.

But my last week has basically consisted of babies, puppies, and photos. My friend Lindsay and I tag-teamed an engagement shoot last week in Tacoma, on a particularly rainy day. But most days this time of year are rainy (except Punxsutawney Phil said this morning that spring is coming, woo). Linds had never actually done a photoshoot for anyone before, so I agreed to co-shoot it with her, let her use my camera for a few shots, and we'd split the pay. It ended up being really fun, and it was actually was nice having two photographers there to think up poses and locations. The more locations I know in Tacoma, the better.

We went to Hello Cupcake for some shots, but they didn't turn out so well. However, the shots of the cupcakes turned out superb.

Hostess cupcakes, how cute?!

The happy couple was a couple of great sports, as it was quite cold that day and we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off. I don't think you could find a more attractive couple. Seriously.
I'm really happy with how these turned out, especially the candid ones - those are always my favourite.

The rest of the week consisted of hanging out with babies - either human or canine. I'll have to include some photos of Remi and Lucy in the next post, because they're so darn cute. But for now, here's Jude and Kristoffer.

As our weekly photoshoots keep going, Sarah and I get to spend a lot of time together, which really means that Jude and I get to spend a lot of time together while Sarah gets ready.
His hair is the greatest thing ever.
Kristoffer, my best friend Laura's little guy, is one of my favourite babies. He's the funniest child, and I'm so happy to be here as he grows up, because it's so crazy thinking that he's a year and a half old already. Like what? I sometimes think about if I ever became a mom, and to be honest I like being an auntie better. My mom used to make a joke (though it isn't that far-fetched) that I would call her one day when I am 30 and be all, "Hey mom can you watch the dogs? I'm going to Europe for the weekend." Ha, I wish.

This is a cute outtake from my shoot with Sarah the other day. We were losing daylight and found this great red fence down by Curtis High School. You can see the rest of my shots on her blog post here.

Also, trying to stick to my New Year's resolution and start shooting with film more! This isn't much of a task though, as I found a Canon Instant AF at the Goodwill the other day that still had film in it. I don't know if it's expired to not, but it's worth a try playing with it.

I should have another outfit up in a couple of days. But in the meantime, go check out Sarah's post and explore the rest of the blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Best wishes!
-Abby
