It's still Thursday, and since it's summer, I thought I'd start a little series of posts on some new cool drinks for the season! And because I'm a caffeine fiend, I wanted to start with a coffee beverage.

My sister is home from school for the summer, so that means I have a subject to photograph whenever the hell I want (well, at least when she's not at her internship). The other day, she was rocking this exact outfit around the house and I had a flashback to 90s Nickelodeon - specifically Alex Mack. Remember than show Larisa Oleynik was in, where she had special powers after surviving a chemical spill? No, well please go check it out. Nickelodeon was pretty fucked up in the 90s.

Raiding the Lush Factory for Retro

Last week, a few of my coworkers and I drove up to Vancouver, Canada to tour the Lush factory and meet the compounders that make the lovely products we peddle (and of course bring home a slew of retro stuff). We spent a good 45 minutes browsing through the shelves in the retro room - and this is what I got.

I talk about music all the time on my YouTube channel (like every video I have a Song of the Day), but besides having outfits named after songs, I never talk that much about it here. I've been spinning a bunch of locals this month after the music smörgåsbord that was Sasquatch, and I've compiled some of my favorite tracks of the month below for you.

Nothing makes me more excited than finding new cool items of clothing that I can wear to work - but don't look like work clothes. Oh the perks of a loose black and white dress code.

I have quite a hoard of Lush products at my house - I need two hands to count how many bars of soap I have and I switch between four shampoos regularly, but the one thing that I have been collecting to a ridiculous degree is lotion. 

This is all lotion, friends. Hand and body lotion, hand cream, cuticle butter, breast cream - all just to moisturize. 

Birthday Giveaway | Lush, lipstick, and Scottish punk music

Since I have a buttload of Lush products to get rid of, and I haven't done a giveaway on my YouTube channel in awhile - I thought I'd do a giveaway for my birthday (which was three days ago).

Twenty-Five

I turned 25 yesterday, and it was one of the best birthdays I've had in years - probably since I turned 22 and met Macklemore and hung out with Givers at Sasquatch. This birthday was - however - very different.

I was given the day off from work because my boss is the best, so I got to spend the whole day in Ballard and Fremont with my best friend of 16 years Laura, and her friend Nikki joined us since she lived like 3 minutes from the Fremont Bridge. And honestly, when you're a grown up and hopping around Ballard bars - the more the merrier!

We met down at Hilliard's Brewery for a free show that KEXP was hosting with my pals Iska Dhaaf (who I literally saw almost exactly a week earlier to the hour at Sasquatch).

Then after Iska Dhaaf finished their set (and I ran into a few other friends) we headed out for downtown Ballard. KEXP was hosting a couple record fairs at the Sunset and Tractor Taverns, so we made small talk with some people from Barsuk and Sub-Pop Records while enjoying some whiskey. It was my second drink of the day, so I felt like a true grown up. Day drinking. That's a thing.

Then Laura, Nikki, and I got $1 tacos for happy hour at El Borracho. Hello $3 lunch!

Mmm, tacos.

What was Laura doing? I don't really know.

I realize I've been neglecting my blog over the last two weeks, and I thought since I had these photos I might as well post them. I've been so focused on getting Sasquatch coverage done that I didn't realize that it had been 2 weeks since I updated this blog. As soon as Sasquatch stuff is done - SO MANY BLOG POSTS.
