Style Reprise: Day N Nite

I've never done one of these before, and I thought that these teal jeans would be a perfect piece to spotlight. They were my first pair of BDG Cigarette Jeans, and the ones that got me hooked (I now own 3 more pairs in different colors). Urban Outfitters currently has a bunch of these on sale for $39 instead of $58, so jump on that.

One Year YouTubeversary

Yes I made that word up.

No judgement.

I realized early this week that I've spent a year on YouTube as Abb3rz07 (previously known at Abberz07). Granted, I had my old channel for three years, but this channel felt like a new start. I've stuck to a schedule, I've built a relatively large (7,071 subscribers) following, and I've made a lot of friends because of this. It's crazy knowing that over 7 thousand people have clicked that button after seeing my face. It's just weird. For all my friends that aren't on YouTube, when I tell them that I have 7 thousand subscribers, they think it's the coolest thing ever. I mean, I guess it is pretty cool. I've gotten a bunch of people come into work and recognize me at Lush (my second day at work, even). That's my favorite thing ever, when people come up to me that know me from the internet.

Mary Lambert told me earlier this month that she recognized my face from Twitter when I met her at a show. I came up to her and told her how much I loved her music and appreciated her as an artist blah blah blah and she goes, "You're Abby, right?" And I froze. And I realized, this is going to continuously happen if I keep gaining subscribers. This is part of my life now. And it's weird and awesome and exciting and unknown and I'm so happy that I feel at home with the YouTube community. I've gotten a bunch of people with Big Frame and Wonderly actually tell me, "You should totally move to L.A.!" I know the perks of living in L.A. I do know that most of YouTube has migrated there and collaborations and working with YouTube and the network directly is really simple when you live in L.A. But it's also Hollywood. It's a thousand miles away from Seattle and it's hot and the traffic is even worse than Seattle and it's just not Seattle. I've thought about going to L.A. for a couple months for a trial run and to make connections. But then I think about everything I love about Seattle and I'm like, "nahh."

This got on a tangent. But what I basically wanted to say is that I'm so thankful for YouTube and all it's brought me, especially this last year. I love you all for sticking with me and being the best subscribers and followers and you're amazing. There are only a few more hours to enter my giveaway in honor of said anniversary, so go to the video above and leave a comment!

Fruit Loop Bath Cocktail

I've seen a few people do posts about bath cocktails, and I thought I'd share a recent discovery with you. I have found a bath bomb and bubble bar combo (or bath cocktail) that smells just like Fruit Loops. Yes. Yes you read that right.

Short Way Home

I know it's been awhile since I did an outfit post, but my week has been quite busy. I shot a wedding last weekend and I've worked the rest of the week. Finding time to shoot is hard sometimes. But I particularly liked this outfit, so I couldn't not make time for it.

Almond Butter, anyone?

I know that this is entirely random, but I had to share my recent obsession with Justin's Honey Almond Butter. I was browsing through the sandwich spread section a couple weeks ago, and I was bored with my peanut butter. And I love peanut butter. I will eat peanut butter on an English muffin for breakfast every day if I could. So for me, this was a big step.

Cardinal Rules

Today was a simple day. Simple clothes for a simple day. Granted, I was on my way to work and I changed my shirt before getting there, but it was so damn hot that I needed to rock a breezy tank top for the rest of the day. We keep the temp at work at 69 degrees, so I can wear whatever I want no matter the weather outside.

Life Lately: A Day With My Lushies

I spent the day on Sunday up in Seattle, and it was a wonderful day. I went shopping and got doughnuts with my pal Kayla, spent the evening with all my coworkers at Alki Beach, and got to meet the ever-adorable Olan Rogers (see the sexy man below).
As you can tell, Kayla was pretty stoked. Olan makes videos on YouTube, everything from comedic sci-fi shorts and series, to hilarious storytelling vlogs. This summer he went on tour just to meet subscribers. He called it his "Eat A Slice With Me" tour, so what did we do? We ate pizza and drank Jones Soda and met an awesome YouTuber. It's so cool seeing a YouTube personality get really big and stay completely true to himself and not caving to any sort of advertising or gimmick. Who else would plan an entirely free tour just to meet all of his subscribers and eat pizza and chat? Olan's smile is infectious and his hugs are marvelous (which I got two of). It made spending my weekend not at Vidcon a whole lot easier knowing that I got to see him.
Look at those cheeks. Dimples of steel, that one.
Cheesing it up like the dorky fangirls that we are. I highly suggest you check out his vlogs, they are priceless.

After the Olan meetup, we hit up Top Pot Doughnuts and Pike Place, because why the hell not? It was 76 and sunny, and a perfect way to start August.
The lunch of champions - San Pellegrino and a maple bar.

I had to include some cliche Pike Place photos. Hey, at least I didn't include pictures of the gum wall. I've gotten past that tourist habit.

The finale to a splendid day was a barbeque up at Alki, that my boss threw for all us Lush ladies. Have I said how much I love working there?
I'd never been to Alki Beach before, and apart from the nightmare that parking was, it was a really fun night. Seeing Seattle from that view was slightly jarring, and it felt like an entirely different world from the city on the other side of the water.
Seattle summers are the best. No contest.

People keep telling me - "Abby you're crazy for commuting that far to work." I love my job, and I love the people I work with. I'd rather commute 45 minutes to a job that I love than live 5 minutes away from a job that I hate. That being said, I need to move to Seattle. It's days like this one that are a constant reminder of that.
